Philip James Hedgecock
Painter | Sculptor based in Florence, Italy
Bio
Philip James Hedgecock (b.1975) is a classically trained sculptor and painter.
He has developed a practice rooted in classical realism while embracing a spirit of experimentation. Though deeply committed to the traditions of drawing, painting, and sculpting from life, his work often reaches beyond academic boundaries, exploring texture, gesture, and the intuitive freedom of mark-making.
Characterised by a sensitive command of form, expressive brushwork, and a contemplative atmosphere, his pieces reflect a lifelong pursuit of artistic mastery, rooted in observation yet open to play, discovery, and spiritual depth.

PAINTING COMMISSION
In a world driven by constant digital change, many people are rediscovering the value of something more enduring. While technology continues to evolve at lightning speed, the timeless art of the painted portrait is making a quiet yet powerful return.
Once a privilege of the elite, portraiture today appeals to professionals and creatives alike who want to celebrate milestones with depth and meaning. A hand-painted portrait transforms major moments—like launching a business, earning a promotion, or simply honoring loved ones—into lasting keepsakes that outlive the fleeting nature of a photograph.
When every day produces thousands of new images, commissioning a portrait invites you to slow down and create something intentional. It’s not just about likeness—it’s about legacy. Through brushwork, composition, and emotion, a painted portrait captures who you are and how you wish to be remembered, beyond the digital screen.
